Fun with Fiber

It is that time of year again. I don’t know why, but children on the autism spectrum will stop eliminating adequate amounts of stool and thus, become quite constipated! This of course, translates into more and more behaviors, aggression, night awakenings, and even regression. For some, more seizures. It is a mess.

Adding soluble fiber daily to our children’s drinks is immensely helpful. In fact, I was just talking with Dan, our supplement manager, and he told me our number one selling supplement was our KH FIBER. Why? So many of my patient population is prone to constipation (of course, the other part of my patient population is prone to diarrhea!) and fiber is a mainstay to helping move the bowels along. Constipation can also run in families and even those who have undergone bariatric surgery. It’s quite a common problem, even outside the field of autism.

The right source of soluble fiber can even go in water, and be colorless, odorless, and tasteless, so it is well tolerated by the majority of my patients. Safe, natural, and easy!
